Welcome to the website of the Whangaroa Marina Trust

Whangaroa Harbour Marina is New Zealand's most northerly marina with the closest access to the famous game fishing grounds from the Cavalli Islands north to North Cape and beyond. The beautiful Whangaroa Harbour is unique in the North Island of New Zealand with its deep water bays and and near vertical volcanic cliffs and has safe anchorages under most weather conditions. The Marina (35°03 00 S  173°44 50E) is  located 3.1 nm south from the deep water entrance  to the harbour (35° 00 00 S    173° 45 80E) at the small Far North village of Whangaroa .

The Marina was opened in 1997 after a few enterprising locals formed a community trust to build the facility for the use of the residents of the former district county of Whangaroa. The marina is still owned and run by the Whangaroa Marina Trust and is a non profit Charitable Trust assisting the community of Whangaroa and providing a facility that all can enjoy.

Whangaroa is known as ‘The Marlin Capital of New Zealand ’ and is a perfect place to base your boat during the summer fishing season. The Marina is a safe secure facility and also has a secure lock up carpark available.
